Established in 1990, Mahila Development Centre is a community-based initiative of women in prostitution in the Chatarbhuj Asthan red light area of Muzaffarpur. Some women in prostitution decided to start this organization with the aim to end their own exploitation and prevent their sisters from being exploited through sex trafficking.
